--- Do you remember Walter? I asked him... Guy was embarrassed and looked elsewhere...
ReplyDelete--- Walter what and Walter who and what for? he replied with a stupid grin that reminded me of an actor I had seen the night before in a Mike Leigh movie --- The story of a brainless boy losing a great Linda in the end. He had what he deserved.
--- The Kinks song! What did Auntie teach to you?
--- I don't like The Kinks. And don't even talk to me about Little Walter, Walter Horton or
Walter Salles. Too depressing.
Happily enough, Guy did cut the useless intermezzo and we went on our way. Of course, he couldn't help to remind me, just for the fun of it, his great Dave Davies allusion:
--- Un jour, tous ces chancres-mous viendront me demander, en bavottant:
"Hey, Coyotte... Comment il fait, Dave Davies, à la guitare?" Pauvres tarés...
Guy, having a miserable time, needed a truly amusing answer. I had one:
--- If you don't want to show them, send 'em to me: I'll show them how to play à la Jeff
Beck!
